The1987 Libertarian National Convention was held at the Sheraton Hotel inSeattle,Washington, from September 4 to September 6, 1987.[1]Ron Paul ofTexas was chosen as theLibertarian Party's nominee forpresident in the1988 election.[2]
Libertarians hold aNational Convention every two years to vote on party bylaws, platform and resolutions and elect national party officers and a judicial committee. Every four years it nominates presidential and vice presidential candidates.[3]
Ron Paul was elected on the first ballot, gathering a majority of the voting delegates, securing nomination.[2]
