The match was played at the neutral venue of theNational Stadium inTokyo in front of 45,000 fans.[1] Heavy snow constantly fell during the match and because of this, the pitch was muddy and in bad playing conditions.Rabah Madjer scored the winning goal in extra time and was namedman of the match.[2]
