The1986 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships were the 40th annualchampionships to determine the national champions ofNCAADivision I men's singles, doubles, and team collegiate tennis in theUnited States. This year's tournaments were played inAthens, Georgia, hosted by theUniversity of Georgia.[1]
The men's team championship was won byStanford, their eighth team national title. The Cardinal defeatedPepperdine in the final round, 5–2.
The men's singles title was won byDan Goldie fromStanford.
The men's doubles title was won byRick Leach andTom Pawsat fromUSC.
The tournaments were played at theDan Magill Tennis Complex at theUniversity of Georgia inAthens, Georgia. The men's and women's tournaments would not be held at the same venue until2006.
