The1985 San Francisco 49ers season was thefranchise's 36thseason in theNational Football League and their 40th overall.

49ersrunning backRoger Craig became the first player in NFL history to record both 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. Craig rushed for 1,050 yards,[3] and had 1,016 receiving yards.[4][5]

This season wasJerry Rice's first season in the league.
