The1985 NCAA Division II football season, part ofcollege football in the United States organized by theNational Collegiate Athletic Association at theDivision II level, began in August 1985, and concluded with theNCAA Division II Football Championship on December 14, 1985, atMcAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium inMcAllen, Texas. During the game's five-year stretch inMcAllen, the "City of Palms", it was referred to as thePalm Bowl. TheNorth Dakota State Bison defeated theNorth Alabama Lions, 35–7, to win their second Division II national title.[1]
