The1981WAAA Championships sponsored bySunsilk, were the nationaltrack and field championships for women in the United Kingdom.^[1]^[2]

The event was held at theCrystal Palace National Sports Centre, London, from 24 to 25 July 1981.^[3]^[4]

The Pentathlon became the Heptathlon following the addition of two disciplines.
