The1980 European Cup Winners' Cup Final was afootball match contested on 14 May 1980 betweenValencia ofSpain andArsenal ofEngland. The final was held atHeysel Stadium inBrussels,Belgium. Valencia won the match 5–4 on penalties.[1] It was the 20thEuropean Cup Winners' Cup final and the only time that the winner was decided by apenalty shoot-out. It was Valencia's third major European title after their twoInter-Cities Fairs Cup victories in the 1960s.
