The1978 Arkansas Razorbacks football team represented theUniversity of Arkansas in theSouthwest Conference (SWC) during the1978 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their second year under head coachLou Holtz, the Razorbacks compiled a 9–2–1 record (6–2 against SWC opponents), finished in a tie for second place in the SWC, and outscored their opponents by a combined total of 336 to 147. The Razorbacks' only losses were to SWC champion Houston by a 20–9 score and to Texas by a 28–21 score. The team advanced to1978 Fiesta Bowl, playing to a 10–10 tie withUCLA.[1] Arkansas was ranked No. 11 in the finalAP poll and No. 10 in the finalUPICoaches Poll.

The team was described as having "tremendous talent at all skill positions" with a "swift" defense. The team was also described as being loaded at the wide receiver position.[2]
