The1975–76 season of theEuropean Cupfootball club tournament was won for the third consecutive time byBayern Munich in the final againstSaint-Étienne atHampden Park,Glasgow. This was the first time that Bayern Munich participated as last year's Cup winners only (Borussia Mönchengladbach won the1974–75 Bundesliga).

It would be another 42 years before a club again won this tournament in three consecutive seasons, this being achieved by Real Madrid in 2018. Only Real Madrid, Ajax, and Bayern Munich won in three consecutive seasons.

InFrance,Saint-Étienne's appearance in thefinal sparked a huge public enthusiasm. In the final, "the Greens" hit the square posts ofGlasgow'sHampden Park stadium. Despite their defeat 1-0, they paraded down theChamps Elysées the following day for their great performance.
