Chris Evert defeatedOlga Morozova in the final, 6–1, 6–2 to win the women's singles tennis title at the1974 French Open.^[1] It was her firstmajor singles title, the first of an eventual record sevenFrench Open women's singles titles, and the first of an eventual 18major singles titles. Evertdid not lose a set during the tournament. Evert and Morozova also won thewomen's doubles title together.

Margaret Court was the reigning champion, but chose not to defend her title.
