Dowd, andNonpartisan Paul J. Leonard.Joseph P. Teasdale was a candidate for the Democratic Party nomination, before winning the nomination in the 1976 election, as was lieutenant governorWilliam S. Morris, whileGene McNary was a candidate for the Republican nomination.
