Podobný uspěch bych přál i našim reprezentantům v Budapešti. [It's hard for me to speak, I'm extremely happy. I know we didn't perform as expected, but you can't deny the boys' great fighting spirit and desire to win. Both teams made several mistakes, especially in defence, leading to goals. But that's how it is in football. I think we represented Czechoslovak football well and proved its upward trajectory. I wish similar success for our national team in Budapest.]

[I think there was a good level in the final. Two technical teams came together and in my opinion, the luckier Bratislava players won. Bad luck stuck to our boots. We could have won the match, but the cup was won by a more tactical and combative opponent. For that they deserve our congratulations.]
