The 1968World Figure Skating Championships were held inGeneva,Switzerland from February 27 to March 3. At the event, sanctioned by theInternational Skating Union, medals were awarded inmen's singles, ladies' singles,pair skating, andice dance.
On the ladies' singles skatingPeggy Fleming finished first in the CF and in the FS too, beforeGabriele Seyfert. The South AfricanMargaret Betts finished on the last place in both program. On the pair skatingLyudmila Belousova andOleg Protopopov finished first also in the SP and in the FS, beforeTatyana Zhuk andAleksandr Gorelik. On the ice dance competitionDiane Towler andBernard Ford won in the CD and FD too.
