The1966 Minnesota Attorney General election was held on 8 November 1966 in order to elect theattorney general of Minnesota.Republican nominee and former member of theMinnesota House of RepresentativesDouglas M. Head defeatedDemocratic–Farmer–Labor nominee Wayne H. Olson.[1] As of2022, this was the last time a Republican won the attorney general's office in Minnesota.
On election day, 8 November 1966,Republican nomineeDouglas M. Head won the election by a margin of 80,870 votes against his opponentDemocratic–Farmer–Labor nominee Wayne H. Olson, thereby gaining Republican control over the office of attorney general. Head was sworn in as the 25thattorney general of Minnesota on 2 January 1967.[2]
