John Surtees (pictured in 1958) retained his 350cc and 500cc World Championship title, his final titles in motorcycle racing before moving toFormula One .In his final season,Carlo Ubbiali successfully defended his 125cc and 250cc World Championship title. The1960 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season was the 12thF.I.M. Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix season. The season consisted of seven Grand Prix races in five classes: 500cc, 350cc, 250cc, 125cc and Sidecars 500cc. It began on 22 May, withFrench Grand Prix and ended withNations Grand Prix inItaly on September 11.
1960 Grand Prix season calendar [ edit ] Points were awarded to the top six finishers in each race. Only the four best races were counted in all five classes: the Sidecars, 125cc, 250cc, 350cc and 500cc championships.
