The1958 Tennessee gubernatorial election was held on November 4, 1958, to elect the nextgovernor of Tennessee. IncumbentDemocratic governorFrank G. Clement wasineligible to run for re-election, as theConstitution of Tennessee prohibited governors from serving consecutive terms at the time. Democratic nomineeBuford Ellington defeated former governor,IndependentJim Nance McCord, andRepublican opponent Tom Wall with 57.5% of the vote.
