The1943 South Carolina Gamecocks football team represented theUniversity of South Carolina as a member of theSouthern Conference (SoCon) in the1943 college football season. Led byJames Moran Sr. in his first and only season as head coach, the Gamecocks compiled an overall record of 5–2 with a mark of 2–1 in conference play, placing third in the SoCon.[1] With the onset ofWorld War II, former coachRex Enright resigned to accept a Navy position.

In the finalLitkenhous Ratings, South Carolina ranked 66th among the nation's college and service teams with a rating of 75.9.[2]
