The1940 United States presidential election in Washington took place on November 5, 1940, as part of the1940 United States presidential election. Voters chose eight[2] representatives, or electors, to theElectoral College, who voted forpresident andvice president.

Washington was won byincumbent PresidentFranklin D. Roosevelt (DNew York), running withSecretaryHenry A. Wallace, with 58.22% of the popular vote, againstWendell Willkie (RNew York), running withMinority LeaderCharles L. McNary, with 40.58% of the popular vote.[3][4]
