The1938USA Indoor Track and Field Championships were organized by theAmateur Athletic Union (AAU) and served as thenational championships in indoortrack and field for theUnited States.
The men's edition was held atMadison Square Garden inNew York City, New York, and it took place February 26. The corresponding women's championships were not held in 1938.[1][2]
At the championships,Glenn Cunningham brokeGene Venzke's 1500 m record, winning by 35 yards. About 15,000 spectators attended.[3][4][5]
