The1938 Connecticut Attorney General election was held on 8 November 1938 in order to elect theAttorney General of Connecticut.Republican nominee and formerSecretary of the State of ConnecticutFrancis A. Pallotti defeatedDemocratic nominee andincumbent acting Attorney General Charles J. McLaughlin andSocialist nominee Harry Schwartz.[1]
On election day, 8 November 1938,Republican nomineeFrancis A. Pallotti won the election by a margin of 21,546 votes against his foremost opponentDemocratic nominee Charles J. McLaughlin, thereby gaining Republican control over the office of Attorney General. Pallotti was sworn in as the 12thAttorney General of Connecticut on 4 January 1939.[2]
