The1929 Colgate football team was anAmerican football team that representedColgate University as an independent during the1929 college football season. In its first season under head coachAndrew Kerr, the team compiled an 8–1 record, shut out seven of nine opponents, and outscored all opponents by a total of 315 to 19. The team played a national schedule, including victories overMichigan State (31-0),Indiana (21-6),Columbia (33-0), andSyracuse (21-0), and suffered its only loss on the road atWisconsin (6-13).[1]

Kerr was hired as Colgate's head coach in April 1929, after three seasons as head coach at Washington & Jefferson.[2] He was inducted into theCollege Football Hall of Fame in 1951.[3]

The team played its home games on Whitnall Field inHamilton, New York.
