The1928 LSU Tigers football team was anAmerican football team that representedLouisiana State University (LSU) as a member of theSouthern Conference during the1928 college football season. In their first season under head coachRuss Cohen, LSU compiled a 6–2–1 record.[1]

Jess Tinsley was named first teamAll-Southern for the second year in a row,[2] playing weak side tackle. First year coachRuss Cohen, himself a former All-Southern end atVanderbilt, claimed that Tinsley was "the finest tackle he had ever seen.[3]
