The1926 Maryland comptroller election was held on 2 November 1926 in order to elect thecomptroller of Maryland.Democratic nominee andincumbent comptroller William S. Gordy Jr. defeatedRepublican nominee Charles F. Goodell andSocialist nominee James L. Smiley.[1]
On election day, 2 November 1926,Democratic nominee William S. Gordy Jr. won re-election by a margin of 67,081 votes against his foremost opponentRepublican nominee Charles F. Goodell, thereby retaining Democratic control over the office of comptroller. Gordy was sworn in for his third term on 3 January 1927.[2]
