TheWorld Figure Skating Championships is an annualfigure skating competition sanctioned by theInternational Skating Union in whichfigure skaters compete for the title of World Champion.
Men's and ladies' competitions were held on January 25–26 inTroppau,Austria-Hungary (modern-dayOpava,Czech Republic). Pairs' competition took place on February 16 inSaint Petersburg,Russian Empire. It was the first World Championships in whichpair skating was contested.
