The1908 United States presidential election in Idaho took place on November 3, 1908. All contemporary 46 states were part of the1908 United States presidential election. State voters chose three electors to theElectoral College, who selected thepresident andvice president.
Idaho was won by theRepublican nominees, former Secretary of WarWilliam Howard Taft ofOhio and his running mateJames S. Sherman ofNew York. They defeated theDemocratic nominees, formerU.S. RepresentativeWilliam Jennings Bryan and his running mateJohn W. Kern ofIndiana. Taft won the state by a margin of 16.92%.
Bryan had previously won Idaho against RepublicanWilliam McKinley in both1896 and1900.
As of 2024, this is the last time Idaho did not have four electoral votes.
