Backman andProhibition nominee Harry E. Gillbert.
On election day, 5 November 1907,Democratic nomineeIsaac Lobe Straus won the election by a margin of 12,440 votes against his foremost opponentRepublican nominee Hammond Urner, thereby retaining Democratic control over the office of attorney general. Straus was sworn in as the 25thattorney general of Maryland on 3 January 1908.[1]
