Incumbent Democratic CongressmanAdolph Meyer, who was first elected in1890, ran for re-election to a sixth term. He was challenged by Hugh Suthon, the Republican nominee and Superintendent of theNew Orleans Mint,[1] and by Socialist nominee John R. Hoy, and won in a landslide.
