The1900 Minnesota Secretary of State election was held on 6 November 1900 in order to elect theSecretary of State of Minnesota.Republican nominee and former member of theMinnesota SenatePeter E. Hanson defeatedDemocratic nominee Michael E. Neary andProhibition nominee Frank E. Carlisle.[1]
On election day, 6 November 1900,Republican nomineePeter E. Hanson won the election by a margin of 53,091 votes against his foremost opponentDemocratic nominee Michael E. Neary, thereby retaining Republican control over the office of Secretary of State. Hanson was sworn in as the 12thMinnesota Secretary of State on 7 January 1901.[2]
