The2017 IIFA Awards, officially known as the18th International Indian Film Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the International Indian Film Academy honouring thebest Hindi films of 2016, occurred inMetLife Stadium inEast Rutherford, New Jersey on 14–15 July 2017. It was the first time that the awards held there and also IIFA returned toUnited States after2014.[2][3]

Udta Punjab led the ceremony with 9 nominations, followed byAe Dil Hai Mushkil andM.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story with 8 nominations each,Pink with 7 nominations andNeerja with 5 nominations.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil won 7 awards, includingBest Music Director (forPritam),Best Lyricist (forAmitabh Bhattacharya – "Channa Mereya") andBest Male Playback Singer (forAmit Mishra – "Bulleya"), thus becoming the most-awarded film at the ceremony.

Alia Bhatt received dual nominations forBest Actress for her performances inDear Zindagi andUdta Punjab, winning for the latter.
