The1894 Stanford football team representedStanford University in the1894 college football season and was coached byWalter Camp, who had previously coached the team in1892.[1]

Herbert Hoover, later the 31stpresident of the United States, was team manager.[2]

Season summary

Pop Bliss had coached Stanfordthe previous season at Stanford; Walter Camp, who had coached Stanford in 1892, returned to Stanford for this season and Bliss moved on to coachHaverford College.[3]

After two consecutive tie games, Stanford defeatedCalifornia 6–0 in the fourthBig Game. Future Stanford head coachCharles Fickert blocked a punt, which was run into the end zone by Guy Cochran for the game's only score.[3] The game with Chicago was the first intersectional contest.
