Elections toManchester City Council were held on Saturday, 1 November 1890. One third of the councillors seats were up for election, with each successful candidate to serve a three-year term of office. Owing to the extension of the city's boundaries,[1] seven new wards (Blackley &Moston,Crumpsall,Longsight,Miles Platting,Newton Heath,Openshaw, andSt. Mark's) elected all of their councillors for the first time.

The council remained underno overall control.[2][3]
