The1880 Nebraska gubernatorial election was held on November 2, 1880, in order to elect theGovernor of Nebraska. IncumbentRepublicanGovernor of NebraskaAlbinus Nance defeatedDemocratic nomineeThomas Tipton, who had formerly served as aRepublicanUS Senator from Nebraska.[1][2]

On election day,Republican nomineeAlbinus Nance won re-election by a margin of 27,070 votes against his foremost opponent,Democratic nomineeThomas Tipton, thereby holding Republican control over the office of Governor. Nance was sworn in for his second term on 4 January 1881.[3][4]
