The1880 Arkansas gubernatorial election was held on 6 September 1880, in order to elect theGovernor of Arkansas.Democratic nominee andincumbentTreasurer of ArkansasThomas James Churchill defeatedGreenback nominee William Pratt "Buck" Parks.[1]

General election

On election day, 6 September 1880,Democratic nomineeThomas James Churchill won the election by a margin of 52,761 votes against his opponentGreenback nominee William Pratt "Buck" Parks, thereby retaining Democratic control over the office of Governor. Churchill was sworn in as the 13th Governor ofArkansas on 13 January 1881.[2]
