The1864 North Carolina gubernatorial election was held on 4 August 1864 in order to elect theGovernor of North Carolina.Incumbent conservative GovernorZebulon Vance won re-election against former member of theNorth Carolina House of CommonsWilliam Woods Holden.[1]

On election day, 4 August 1864, incumbent conservative GovernorZebulon Vance won re-election by a margin of 43,579 votes against his opponentWilliam Woods Holden, thereby retaining the office of Governor. Vance was sworn in for his second term on 22 December 1864.[2]
