The1868Boston mayoral election was held on December 8, 1868[1] and sawFrederic W. Lincoln Jr. be returned to the mayoralty for a fourth non-consecutive term, unseating incumbent mayorJoseph Wightman.
Lincoln was nominated on theRepublican and Citizens'ticket, while Wightman was nominated on theDemocratic and People's ticket.[2]
