The1852 Arkansas gubernatorial election was held on August 2, 1852, in order to elect theGovernor of Arkansas.Democratic nominee and formerArkansas State AuditorElias Nelson Conway defeatedWhig nominee B. H. Smithson.[1]

General election

On election day, August 2, 1852,Democratic nomineeElias Nelson Conway won the election by a margin of 3,028 votes against his opponentWhig nominee B. H. Smithson, thereby retaining Democratic control over the office of Governor. Conway was sworn in as the 5th Governor ofArkansas on November 15, 1852.[2]
