The1830 Virginia gubernatorial election was held on 16 January 1830 in order to elect theGovernor of Virginia. FormerDemocratic member of theU.S. House of Representatives fromVirginia's 20th districtJohn Floyd defeated fellow Democrat and former member of theVirginia House of Delegates fromStafford CountyPeter V. Daniel in aVirginia General Assembly vote.[1]
On election day, 16 January 1830,Democratic nomineeJohn Floyd won the election against fellow DemocratPeter V. Daniel. Floyd was sworn in as the 25thGovernor of Virginia on 4 March 1830.[2]
