The1828 Virginia gubernatorial election was held on 1 March 1828 in order to elect theGovernor of Virginia. IncumbentDemocraticGovernor of VirginiaWilliam Branch Giles won re-election in theVirginia General Assembly as he ran unopposed.[1]
On election day, 1 March 1828,Democratic nomineeWilliam Branch Giles easily won re-election as he ran unopposed. Giles was sworn in for his second term on 4 March 1828.[2]
