Agubernatorial election was held inVirginia on December 8, 1815.^[4] The incumbentgovernor of VirginiaWilson Cary Nicholas was re-elected without opposition.^[1]

The election was conducted by theVirginia General Assembly in joint session.^[3] Nicholas was elected with a majority on the first ballot.^[1]
