The1788–89 United States presidential election in Georgia took place on January 7, 1789, as part of the1788–89 United States presidential election. Thestate legislature chose 5 representatives, or electors to theElectoral College, who voted forPresident andVice President.
George Handley, John King,George Walton,Henry Osborne, andJohn Milton served as electors. The electors cast five votes forGeorge Washington, two for Milton, one forJames Armstrong, one forEdward Telfair, and one forBenjamin Lincoln.[1]
