TheParliament of Ireland passesAn Act for Promoting the Trade of Dublin, by rendering its Port and Harbour more commodious, creating the Corporation for Preserving and Improving the Port of Dublin (the "Ballast Board"), predecessor of theCommissioners of Irish Lights.[2]
