The1778 Delaware gubernatorial election was held on 31 March 1778 in order to elect thePresident of Delaware. (The office would be renamed to Governor in 1792.) Candidate and former member of theContinental CongressCaesar Rodney was elected by theDelaware General Assembly against other candidates.[1]
On election day, 31 March 1778,Caesar Rodney was elected by theDelaware General Assembly. Rodney was sworn in as the 4thPresident of Delaware on 31 March 1778.[2]
