16α-Hydroxydehydroepiandrosterone (16α-hydroxy-DHEA or16α-OH-DHEA) is anendogenousmetabolite ofdehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA). Both 16α-OH-DHEA and its 3β-sulfateester,16α-OH-DHEA-S, areintermediates in thebiosynthesis ofestriol fromdehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA).[1] 16α-OH-DHEA hasestrogenic activity.[2]
