The2022 BRICS summit is thefourteenth annualBRICS summit, an international relations conference attended by the heads of state or heads of government of the five member statesBrazil,Russia,India,China andSouth Africa.[1] It was the third time that China hosted the BRICS Summit after2011 and2017.[2][3] The summit was hosted virtually by video conference.[4][5][6]

Reserve currency

A major development on the summit was creation of a new, basket type reserve currency. The currency, combines BRICS currencies and is backed by precious metals.[7][8]
