104th Regiment of Foot (King's Volunteers)

The104th Regiment of Foot (King's Volunteers) was a short-livedinfantry regiment of theBritish Army active during theSeven Years' War.[1]

On 10 August 1761Patrick Tonyn, an officer in the6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant-colonel and authorised to raise aregiment of foot.[2] The regiment was duly formed by the regimentation of six independent companies as the 104th Foot in October 1761.[2] The regiment served inMartinique before being disbanded in 1763.
