The102nd Territorial Defense Brigade (Ukrainian :102-га окрема бригада територіальної оборони ) is a military formation of theTerritorial Defense Forces ofUkraine inIvano-Frankivsk Oblast . It is part ofOperational Command West . The full name of the Brigade is the 102nd Independent Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces named afterDmytro Vitovsky .[ 2]
In 2018 inIvano-Frankivsk region Brigade was formed. On 30 January 2019 Brigade began to increase its ranks and units full Brigade level.[ 2]
Between 27 May and 2 June 2019 150 reservist trained together in Kalush.[ 1]
Russo-Ukrainian War [ edit ] Russian invasion of Ukraine [ edit ] From 14 June 2022, elements of the brigade's 77th Battalion participated in the defense of the village ofKrasnopillia [uk ] nearSloviansk . On 16 June, they were joined by the brigade's 79th Battalion, and also took part in combat near the village ofDolyna [uk ] . On the same day, other units of the 102nd Brigade were engaged in combat in theZaporizhzhia Oblast at the villages ofMalynivka ,Zelenyi Hai [uk ] , andChervone [uk ] .[ 3]
The 77th Battalion continued defending the village of Krasnopillia against Russian assault operations into late June 2022.[ 3]
Engineering units of the brigade were used to clear deoccupied areas from unexploded ordnance in July.[ 4] [ 5] operations nearLyman in September.[ 6] combat in Southern Ukraine , being deployed toZaporizhzhia Oblast in September 2022.[ 7] [ 8] BTR-82AT .[ 9] [ 10] Huliaipole during February 2023.[ 11]
