(R)-3-Nitrobiphenyline is a drug. As an α2-adrenergicagonist, it activatesα2 adrenergic receptors, which respond to thehormonesadrenaline (also known as epinephrine) andnoradrenaline (norepinephrine). It is selective for theα2C subtype, as well as being a weakantagonist at theα2A andα2B subtypes. It has been used in scientific research to characterize the binding and functional properties of theα2C subtype.[1][2]
