In theInternational Phonetic Alphabet, its small caps form (U+029B ʛLATIN LETTER SMALL CAPITAL G WITH HOOK) represents thevoiced uvular implosive and its lowercase form represents thevoiced velar implosive. Because it occurs in the orthographies of some African languages, including some unofficial orthographies ofFula, it is included in theAfrican reference alphabet.[1]
