İrfan Buz (born 15 April 1967) is aTurkish professionalfootball manager and formerplayer.
Buz moved to Germany in 1971 with his family, and graduated as a construction technician from theTechnical University of Dortmund.
Buz began playing amateur football withRot-Weiß Lüdenscheid, before playing professional in Turkey.[1] Buz joinedSarıyer S.K. in theSüper Lig in 1989, but only made one appearance over two years.[2]
After his footballing career, Buz began working as afootball manager. He transitioned as player-manager for the amateur German club Barışspor Hackenberg. From 1999 to 2008, he served a youth coach for theGerman Football Association. He managed the German club SpVg Olpe from 2009 to 2013 and got attention from the TurkishSüper Lig.[3] In 2013, he briefly joinedFC Iserlohn 46/49 before moving toBursaspor.[4]
Buz was appointed manager of Bursaspor on 26 March 2014.[5] He then went to manageGençlerbirliği.[6] He then spent a couple years atYeni Malatyaspor, who he helped promoted to the Süper Lig in the2016–17 season.[7] In September 2017, he became the manager ofOsmanlıspor, who were relegated at the end of the season.[8]
