Hel's hall in Niflheim in Norse mythology

InNorse mythology,Éljúðnir (sometimes Anglicized toEljudnir) isHel's hall located inNiflheim as described in chapter 34 ofSnorri Sturluson'sProse Edda in the bookGylfaginning. The nameÉljúðnir[ˈeːlˌjuːðnez̠] isOld Norse and means "sprayed with snowstorms" or "damp with sleet or rain".[1] The hall is only mentioned in this chapter.

The hall is described as featuring a threshold that is actually a pitfall calledFallandaforað meaning "falling toperil", her bed calledKör meaning "sick bed" that has bed curtains calledBlikjandaböl which means "Gleaming Disaster".[1]
